Shipping & Returns

Made-to-Order Production

Almost everything we sell is made to order. Your items don't exist until you place your order. This lets us offer a huge catalog without holding warehouse stock, but it does mean shipping isn't instant.

Typical production time: 2-4 business days Occasionally (rare): 5-10 business days

A handful of products take around 5 days to produce. If something goes wrong during that build, we have to remake it from scratch, which can extend the timeline. We'll keep you posted if your order falls into this category.

Gaming mats are the exception. They're not made to order. See the Gaming Mats section below for details.


United States

  • Free shipping on orders $100+
  • You'll get the shipping method you select at checkout
  • If you qualify for free shipping, we'll choose the carrier and service that gets your order to you reliably

Europe

  • Free shipping on orders $225+

If your order contains items from multiple facilities, you'll receive multiple packages.


Australia & New Zealand

  • Australia: Free shipping on orders $150 AUD+
  • New Zealand: Free shipping on orders $225 USD+
  • Orders below the free shipping threshold use paid rates calculated at checkout

  • Terrain - Australia
  • Miniatures - United States
  • Gaming mats - United States (coming soon: stocked in Australia!)

Because items may dispatch from different countries, expect multiple packages.


When EU or AU/NZ Orders Contain Items That Ship From the US

Occasionally, an item in your cart isn't stocked at your regional hub and needs to ship from our US facility. This can happen with certain SKUs, restock gaps, or specialty products.

What this means at checkout:

  • You'll see a separate shipping option for the US-sourced items, and you'll need to select a US shipping method for them
  • The rest of your order will ship from your regional hub as normal (Denmark/Germany for EU, Australia for AU/NZ)
  • Expect multiple packages arriving on different timelines

If you'd rather not have items shipped from the US, just remove those items from your cart before checking out and your remaining order will ship entirely from your regional hub.

The following countries qualify for free economy shipping on orders $225 USD or more:

Not seeing your country listed? We can likely still ship to you. Paid shipping options will appear at checkout. The free shipping threshold only applies to the countries listed above.

Countries we don't ship to:

  • Africa - except South Africa, Réunion, Mayotte, French Southern Territories, and British Indian Ocean Territory
  • Chile

A few important notes on international economy shipping:

  • Orders below $225 USD use paid shipping rates calculated at checkout. Once your cart hits $225, free economy shipping becomes available as an option.
  • Transit time is 5-10 weeks. This is economy postage and it takes a while. Please be patient. If you need it sooner, select a paid expedited option at checkout.
  • Your order may be split into multiple shipments to keep postage rates low. When we split an order, we split the declared value accordingly so you won't be double-charged customs duties.

Gaming Mats

Gaming mats are produced and shipped by our partner Grey Matter Gaming in Michigan. Because they ship separately from a different facility:

  • Gaming mats do not count toward any free shipping threshold
  • They will arrive in a separate package from the rest of your order
  • US shipping: $10 flat rate
  • International shipping: Varies based on destination and order value (calculated at checkout)

Customs, Duties & Import Fees

If your country charges customs, import duties, VAT, or other fees on incoming packages, these fees are your responsibility, not ours. Customs charges are not collected at checkout. Your local customs agency will contact you directly for payment when your package arrives.

Tabletop Terrain is not responsible for:

  • Customs, duty, or import fees of any kind
  • Delays caused by customs processing
  • Disputes or issues between you and your customs agency

If you're unsure what fees might apply to your order, we recommend checking with your local customs office before ordering.


Returns & Refunds

We stand behind the quality of our 3D-printed terrain and miniatures. Because almost every order is made to order, our return policy reflects this. Please read through the relevant section below before filing a ticket.


Damaged or Defective Items

If your order arrives damaged or has a manufacturing defect, we'll make it right.

  • Contact us within 30 days of delivery
  • Include photos of the damage or defect
  • We'll send a free replacement or issue a full refund

Change of Mind or Unwanted Items

Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for unused, undamaged items in their original packaging.

  • Customer is responsible for return shipping
  • A 20% restocking fee may apply, since items are produced specifically for your order
  • File a ticket at support.tabletopterrain.com before shipping anything back

Final Sale Items

The following are final sale and not eligible for return, except in cases of damage or defect:

  • Custom orders
  • Painted commission work

  2. We'll respond within 1-2 business days with next steps
  3. Follow the instructions we send you to ship the item back or receive a replacement

Order Cancellation

If you'd like to cancel your order, message us as soon as possible.

  • Not yet in production: We'll happily cancel and issue a full refund
  • Already in production: A cancellation fee may apply, since materials and machine time have already been committed to your build

The faster you reach out, the better your chances of catching the order before it enters production.
