Paperback Adventures Volume 1 Insert / Organizer

This is an insert / organizer for Paperback Adventures Volume 1.  It stores the core components and all three characters (Damsel, Ex Machina, and Plothook) across three boxes.  It supports the sleeves provided with the game, can be stored vertically, has no lid lift when storing two character trays, and was designed to aid setup and teardown.

Each of the card types that goes in the archive has its own tray that goes straight from the box to the table.  The McGuffin deck requires drawing from the bottom, and for the other decks, some game effects require drawing cards, choosing one, and then placing the rest on the bottom of the deck.  To make this easier, the archive decks generally have an open back structure that allows easy access to the bottom of the deck (see the photos or video).  The library card decks are a bit too tall to support the angle on the open-backed trays, so those are in a more traditional deck holder.

Below is a video discussing some of the design considerations and showing how it all goes together.  The photos also show how to layer everything in the box, but in general:

• One box stores all the lackey and boss components, plus the character trays, metal tracker tokens, and large character identity cards. There is only a single small printed tray in this box, and so it was designed to make it easy to get the cards out of the bottom of the box. If you want to store additional character trays, they will fit but may add a bit of lid lift.
• One box stores all the playing cards for the characters, including their starting deck, core character cards, starting item, and library cards.
• One box stores all the other cards the go in the archive, including the McGuffins, Boss McGuffins, Items, and Penalty cards. This box also stores the remaining setup cards, including the Plot Twists, Wild Cards, and Enemy Vowel cards. It also stores the unlockable card envelopes and the sleeves for use with those cards once they are unlocked. All trays are designed to hold the unlocked cards in the proper locations after they are unlocked.
