Product Care

How to keep your miniatures on the table for years to come

Before you paint

Our terrain and miniatures are made on professional level FDM and resin printers. They are not cast, so there is no release agent to clean.

There is no need to wash or scrub our products before painting.

Our team hand cleans everything before it is sent- but in case something was missed, a little prep work before paint will save you a lot of time later.

  • Clean

Using a hobby knife, clean up any rough edges. Fixing any issues before adding paint will save you time later on.

  • Sand

None of our painted displays in the product photos have been sanded. It is not necessary but if you want to fix some sections, this is the time.

  • Assemble

Even if you want to paint in subassemblies, test fitting everything prior to paint helps you get a better idea of how final assembly will look.

Priming + Painting

Always prime before painting. The primer helps paint adhesion and also hides layer lines on FDM prints.

We recommend using spray primers. Stay away from "Prime+Paint" as the heavy coats can obscure a lot of detail.

Thin your paints- multiple thin coats produces much better results than a single heavy coat.

Washes and contrast paints work very good on terrain. All of our product displays have no sanding applied, just heavy washes after painting.

Drybrushing also is highly effective for getting table-ready terrain quickly.

Storage + Repair

Our products are quite durable but they are very sensitive to heat. Store them away from heat sources and in direct sunlight. Avoid leaving products in hot cars. Products left in cars are the #1 source of damage. Products will begin to warp at 60°C (140°F.)

Use cyanoacrylate (super glue) for both FDM and resin. Gel CA glue gives you a few extra seconds of working time for positioning.
