Unique terrain RULES

Official Terrain Types

Ruins

The most ubiquitous terrain type, most competitive sets are built around a wide variety of Ruins. Ruins terrain is made up of broken down buildings and walls, and can have multiple stories. Units inside of Ruins terrain receive the benefit of cover when targeted, and units cannot see through Ruins terrain, making it an important piece of Line of Sight blocking for your table set-up.

We offer a variety of Ruins that are compatible with Warhammer 40,000 including the mix of walls here and the Pariah Nexus compliant full tabletop set here.

Craters & Rubble

The natural result of artillery and large weapons fire, craters and rubble provide Benefit of Cover to infantry fully within them. Craters can be scattered throughout your tabletop in a variety of sizes in order to vary up the aesthetics.

We offer a variety of different Craters compatible with your 40k games! Check out our standard Craters here or a slightly different design with our Blast Craters here.

Woods

This dense terrain type allows units hiding within or behind them to be partially obscured and receive Benefit of Cover to units who have to look into or through the Woods.

For burnt out, grimdark trees, we offer a set of Gnarly Trees here. Or, if you're looking to add a little touch of swamp and plague to your games, check out our immense Plague Tree here.

Hills & Bunkers

Hills can be either natural landscape environments or items like sealed bunkers or large shipping containers - these items help block movement paths and Line of Sight, and provide Benefit of Cover to units partially obscured by them.

Whatever your preference, we have you covered with a variety of modular Sci-Fi hills or a set of industrial Vehicle Bunkers!

Barricades

Represented typically by fuel pipes and sandbag walls, barricades can provide the Benefit of Cover to units partially obscured by them. Additionally, they affect the way units charge and fight.

For a militaristic bunker, check out our War Bunker scatter terrain here - a variety of this will add tons of Barricades to your table. Or, if you'd like a more industrial setting, shop our Pipe Scatter terrain sets and grab a few pipes to sprinkle around your base.

Debris & Scatter

Flags, statues, ammo crates - these types of natural "scatter" on a table can help obscure Line of Sight and provide Benefit of Cover to units partially obscured by them. Mostly, scatter terrain is used to add a pop of fun theme to your table!

If you're building out a naturalistic table you can easily add some Jagged Rocks to almost any set up. Or, if you're looking for something a bit more sci-fi, check out our Karnac Necrontyr Scatter set.
